Why do some cheeses stink?
Actually, the stinky smell is mostly concentrated in the outer covering of cheese. The covering forms after soft-ripened cheese is dipped into brine with bacteria of which the same species that produce human body odor! But don't worry: stinky cheese usually tastes milder than it smells.
