7. Favorite Day: Milk Chocolate Covered Caramels With Nonpareils
As Target's new owned brand, Favorite Day enjoys a high reputation in food & beverage production. However, about 8-ounce bags of their Valentine's Milk Chocolate Covered Caramels with Nonpareils are being recalled for containing an undeclared tree nut. Consumers who have allergies to tree nuts (chestnuts, brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, cashews, etc.) would run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. The recalled items were distributed nationwide through Target retail stores. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem may have been caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging process.
