9 Controversial Foods That Are Actually Banned In Foreign Countries
1. Durian Fruit
This special fruit is much-loved across Southeast Asia and eaten on a regular basis, despite its stinky smell. The odor has been described as everything from rotting onions to sewage or decaying flesh. The stinky smell is so dreadful that an Australian university was evacuated due to the smell being mistaken for a gas leak in 2019. Then, it's no surprise that the fruit was banned in some public spaces and on public transport in Australia and Singapore.
