A quarter of your plate should consist of carbs. You should prioritize whole grains over refined grains due to the various health benefit of fiber and other complex carbs as a sustained energy source. Good sources of whole grains include oats, whole wheat derivatives (whole wheat bread, pasta, tortilla, etc.), brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, millet, etc.
