The Indians developed a method of bargaining using hand gestures. For example, wrapping your fingers around two fingers of the other person means "two". The entire deal is conducted under a towel to ensure the interest of sellers. Note that the system is still in use today, as India has great linguistic diversity within its region. So how is black pepper brought to our dining table?
