8 Foods Safe to Eat After The Expiration Date
3. Cereal And Granola: 1-3 weeks past expiration date
If your family members enjoy different brands of cereals and stock up boxes of these processed foods, let them. Like pasta, cereal and granola don't contain much moisture if adequately packaged, which leads to their extended life of 1-3 weeks past expiration date. Similar rules apply for dried fruit, crackers, and chips. As long as these dry products don't smell funky or crumble apart easily, they're still thriving on the counter and safe to eat.
