Can I Use Expired Spices?
How to Revive Old Spices
- Toast spices on a hot skillet or fry in oil right before using them to increase potency. It is especially useful for curry powder, cumin, and coriander.
- Repurpose them into natural room scents. Make sage, clove, thyme, and oregano into sachets. You could also make spice-infused water and candle. Improvise with anything you have at hand. But remember to heat them to wake up those last aroma compounds in your spice.
