What is salmonella?
Salmonella is a rod-shaped bacteria that can be found in the GI tracts of humans and animals. It's usually shed from the body via feces. Salmonella is known to cause salmonellosis in humans and animals. Symptoms of salmonellosis include diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever. In severe cases, patients may require hospitalization.
