Leftovers Could Last Longer than What FDA Guidelines Say
Let's admit it: we've pretty much, at some point in life, eaten leftovers that are left chilling in the fridge since you-don't-even-remember-when. But of course, we made sure they don't smell, look moldy, or taste off before engulfing the entire thing. And sometimes we do get sick from eating that leftover, but often we don't.
According to FDA, leftovers should be eaten or thrown out four days after refrigeration. But is that always true?
