1. Makina Cafe, 36-47 30th Street, Queens, NY
Founded by Eden G. Egziabher, an Ethiopian-born entrepreneur with Eritrean stock, Makina Cafe is proud to serve up Habesha food. The term "Habesha" highlights the unity of residents in Ethiopia and its neighboring country, Eritrea. Just like ordering a burrito bowl, you have the freedom to choose your base, protein, vegetables, and garnishes. Their menu is gluten-free and vegan friendly. Special stews and Sambusa (a fried/baked pastry with savory fillings) offered. Delivery and take-out are available.
