Types of Hot Pepper Powder and Substitutes
Chili powder
- A combination of ground cayenne pepper with other flavorful ground spices, including cumin, onion, garlic powder, and sometimes salt.
- The heat level depends on the amount of cayenne pepper in the spice blend. The more cayenne pepper there is, the hotter the red chili powder will be.
- Substitute red chili powder with a blend of paprika and cayenne powder.
